Vision for the role

The Agency Manager’s role is to support the Directors of African Brand Architects in business development and fulfilment of marketing and communications projects by coordinating service providers to achieve the KPIs as set out by the directors and customer projects.

A-Player Defined

The Agency Manager is the client and supplier-facing role within African Brand Architects. They are the point of contact for new business, existing customer queries and service provider coordination who ensures that KPIs are delivered on. This person does not just tick the box. They actively find ways to exceed customer expectations, show initiative to improve not only in delivery to that customer but how African Brand Architects services its customers. The Agency Manager is resourceful, has a natural ability to solve problems efficiently and independently, and has the ability to think critically, multi-task and develop rapport to reinforce the African Brand Architects brand.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years experience agency experience (managerial experience advantageous)
  • Diploma or degree in marketing, communications, PR or similar

Role Responsibilities

  1. Business Development
    • Seeking business opportunities for African Brand Architects
    • Meeting with prospective clients to source briefs
    • Liaise with Directors to create proposals and present these
    • Follow up with prospective clients to close deals
    • Prepare client retainer and project agreements
    • Seeking opportunities to position African Brand Architects as thought leaders
  1. Client Liaison
    • Dealing with customer enquiries in an empathetic and professional manner
    • The champion of their customer’s needs – anticipating these even before the customer has mentioned them
    • Efficient client communications and meetings through agenda and minutes
    • End-to-End project management of client requirements leveraging support of 3rd-party suppliers
  1. Coordinating with Service Providers to deliver on customer KPIs
    • Outsource the requirements of client projects and tactics to 3rd party suppliers
    • Ensure the quality of the delivery of 3rd party supplier services meets desired quality levels

  1. Admin as required
    • Liaise with accounts for debtor and creditor invoicing 
    • Liaise with service providers to source reporting / KPIs and submit reporting to client
    • Ensuring all outgoing content is professional and done right, the first time Highly efficient and proactive project management of client projects, with proper delegation, managing client expectations and strategic and operational excellence in end-to-end project roll-out
    • Client admin as required Reporting to Directors
